Geelong’s next urban growth area is now a step closer to reality with the green light given for the master-planned Austin Lara community to commence construction.

Geelong’s first residential high-rise has celebrated completion and will next month welcome the first of its 250-plus residents to inner-city harbourside living. The Mercer, at the prime Western Beach location, is a critical early player in the revitalisation of central Geelong.

The Member for South Barwon Darren Cheeseman, Geelong Mayor Bruce Harwood and the Warralily team came together to mark completion of the Warralily shared pathway link from Barwon Heads Rd through to the Surf Coast Highway. The picturesque 4.9km shared pathway enables residents to cycle or walk the full breadth of Armstrong Creek’s leading development - providing a new level of connectivity to the growth area and a healthy lifestyle for residents. 

Construction has started on the second stage of the Geelong waterfront’s transformative $100 million Balmoral Quay development at Rippleside.  Appointed builder Kane Constructions will employ more than 400 people on the luxury townhouse and apartment project, which is spearheading a sophisticated renewal of Geelong’s under-utilised bayside assets.

Geelong’s own Warralily development at Armstrong Creek has taken out the Environmental Excellence Award at the 2019 Urban Development Institute of Australia National Awards for Excellence against a field of State and Territory finalists. Warralily was Victoria’s only winner at this year’s National awards event held in the Gold Coast on Thursday night, strengthening the estate’s position as the most awarded urban environment in the Geelong region.

The official opening of the new world-class Balmoral Quay Marina on the Geelong waterfront, attended by the Hon. Richard Marles MP Federal Member for Corio, bolsters the city’s position as the boating lifestyle capital of Victoria. The $100 million Balmoral Quay luxury development, on 2.7 hectares of waterside prime land, is the first residential to fully embrace the harbourside attributes of the under-utilised Corio Bay foreshore. 

Construction has commenced on Geelong’s most prestigious new apartment high-rise, The Mercer.  The elegant Peddle Thorp-designed 15-storey building is spearheading a wave of high-rise apartments driving major change to inner-urban Geelong.

Warralily is set to raise the bar at Mount Duneed with the imminent release of the super- suburb’s newest neighbourhood, the prestigious Warralily Grange. With Warralily’s existing Armstrong Creek precincts already 70 per cent sold, the Warralily Grange timeline has been brought forward to match buyer demand as the Warralily population surpasses 5,500 residents.

A unique sports training, accommodation and tourism facility planned for Victoria’s Surf Coast is expected to attract the world’s top professional athletes and bring a new global focus on Australia and the Great Ocean Road. The $350 million development will be known as CORA (Cape Otway Road Australia) and will be the first of its kind in the southern hemisphere.
